The vines are correct. The stench is amazing. The face is not a skull and it should be more pointed than rounded. Shortcut: Risk the varialess attempt through Magmoor Caverns and Phendrana Drifts until you reach Phazon Mines to acquire the Power Bomb upgrade and defeat her by blasting the tubes with power bombs. The acid won't do you much harm considering the fact that you'll have the Gravity Suit.
